Terms and Conditions - UCI 2020 Cyclo-cross World Championships Contest

Article 1 – General information

The contest is organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale (hereinafter UCI) in collaboration with Santini, the official worldwide producer of the UCI racewear and merchandise. The UCI is the worldwide governing body for cycling and a non-governmental international association with a non-profit making purpose of international interest, having legal personality pursuant to Article 60 ff. of the Swiss Civil Code. The UCI is responsible for the organisation of the contest. Twitter, Instagram and any other website, from which the form is accessible via an URL, do not sponsor, support or organise in any way this contest. Therefore, any queries regarding the contest should be addressed to the UCI.

 

Article 2 – Conditions of the contest

One draw will be made to determine two winners amongst all the participants who have correctly completed the registration form in time.

 

Article 3 – Conditions for participation

Participation is open to any adult person (over 18 years old) who has correctly completed and submitted the registration form in due time.

A person is only allowed to participate once during the limited period set out by the UCI for the participation, namely between January 28, 2020 at 9 am and January 31, 2020 at 6 pm (UTC+1).

 

Article 4 – Rules

The form, necessary in order to participate in the contest, will be accessible online (and notably on, but not limited to, Twitter and Instagram) via the URL provided by the UCI and only on the dates mentioned in the Article 3 of these terms and conditions.

To participate in the contest, the participant must click on the relevant link, complete all boxes in the registration form accessible via this link, notably posted on Twitter and Instagram and submit the form in due time. Through the registration form, the participant must provide the following information: his/her first name; his/her last name; his/her email address; his/her country; and predict the two Elite winners of the 2020 Cyclo-Cross World Championships. As provided for within article 5, the two Elite winners predicted by the participants will be used to determine which participants will be eligible to participate in the draw. Indeed, only participants who have correctly predicted the two Elite winners will participate in the draw.

The participant must also agree with the present terms and conditions of the contest by ticking the relevant boxe. The other boxes are optional.

A member of the staff of the UCI cannot participate in the contest.

 

Article 5 – Winners

The two winners of the contest will be drawn among all participants who have correctly predicted the two Elite winners of the 2020 Cyclo-Cross World Championships, as requested in the form, within two weeks of the end of the period of participation, at the headquarters of the UCI, by a staff member.

The two winners will be contacted by email, through the information obtained via the registration form and announced on February 14, 2020, by the UCI, notably on Twitter and Instagram (via a post or a comment).

In case one of the winners cannot be contacted, a new draw will be done and so on until two winners can be identified and contacted.

The two winners drawn will each receive a Santini 2020 UCI Cyclo-Cross World Championships jersey signed by the World Champions.

The unit value of the jersey is EUR. 85 (eighty-five euros).

The two jerseys will be delivered by postal service to the two winners, who must provide their postal addresses, on the request of the UCI.

Each prize cannot be exchanged for cash or for another product. However, the UCI reserves the right to modify the prizes, at any moment, provided that the new prizes are equivalent.

 

Article 6 – Modification or cancellation

The UCI reserves the right, in particular in case of force majeure, to cancel, extend, shorten, amend or postpone the contest, at any time.

The UCI reserves the right to exclude a participant from the contest, in the event of cheating, bad behaviour or if the information provided within the registration form are false.

In the cases described above, the responsibility of the UCI cannot be engaged in any way.

The responsibility of the UCI can also not be engaged in any way if one of the winners cannot be contacted; if a registration form is not received; if a prize is deteriorated, lost or received after some delay, after the prizes are posted; if there is a problem (including of functioning or security) with the Internet or one of the social networks.

 

Article 7 – Data protection

The processing of personal data is understood as the collect and processing of the personal data of the participants after submitting their registration forms with their personal information and of the winners for the delivery of the prizes.

The processing of personal data, described above, are necessary for the proper conduct of the contest and limited to the purpose for which the data were collected.

When submitting its registration form, the participant ticks the box which allows the processing of the personal data provided.

The UCI will ensure that the processing of personal data related to the contest is carried out in a fair and transparent manner and complies with the applicable data protection laws, in particular in terms of security and respect of the data subject rights.

In this regard, a participant can exercise its rights (notably, but not limited to, the right of access, the right to rectification, the right to erasure/to be forgotten, the right to restrict processing, the right to data portability and the right to object), as provided for in applicable data protection laws, at any time, by contacting the UCI on the following address:

It is understood that such action can lead to the exclusion of the participant from the contest if the erasure or modification of personal information prevents the UCI from contacting the participant.

The UCI will delete the personal data collected after a period of 3 months following the end of the contest. However, the UCI reserves the right to anonymize the personal data collected and to store and process such anonymized data for statistical purposes for a longer period.

The UCI may also process the personal data collected for marketing purposes with the prior consent of the participant. Specific optional boxes are provided in the registration form for this purpose.

 

Article 8 – Miscellaneous

The contest is governed by Swiss law and the application of private international law is expressly excluded.

All provisions of those terms and conditions are understood according to the interpretation of the UCI and the UCI will deal with all matters relating to the interpretation of those terms and conditions.
