UCI statement on sweat sensors

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) confirms that, as per Article 1.3.006 bis (onboard technology) of the UCI Regulations, sweat rate sensors fall under the physiological sensor category and therefore are permitted for use during UCI sanctioned races.

Measurements taken during a race using this device allow for the assessment of sweat rate and sweat sodium concentration. This information is useful for optimising the recovery process, especially after a race in high temperatures, and prevent the risk of hypohydration and injury due to heat.
