The 2014 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup is coming to a close. After four exciting rounds in England, The Netherlands, Germany and Argentina, the BMX Elite will travel to California for the final World Cup race of the season. Once again the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista will be hosting the event on a proven supercross track which is nothing short of spectacular. The champions in both the women and men classes will be crowned on Saturday 27 September.
Elite Men The 2014 UCI BMX World Cup is well on its way and Liam Phillips of Great Britain is holding the best cards. His lead of 130 points over Anthony Dean (AUS) and 170 over Frenchman Joris Daudet could look different at the end of the day with 225 points going to the winner of the final round in Chula Vista. Two-time Olympic gold medalist Maris Strombergs (LAT) has won two World Cup races this season and will aim for a top three finish in the overall ranking after stop number five. Americans Connor Fields (5th) and Corben Sharrah (8th) will use home advantage to show the fans they're ready for a podium.

Women Caroline Buchanan's lead is substantial in the women class, but she has not clinched the title yet with 225 points on the line at the last stop. The Australian is being chased by Laura Smulders (NED) and Brooke Crain (USA) who both have 580 points, 150 less than Caroline (730). Caroline Buchanan is determined to keep the leader plate on her bike till the very end but one mistake can shake things up.

The race at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA will be a decision maker. Time trials and qualification races take place on Friday 26 September. The final race of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup starts at 1pm on Saturday.
