The 2016 UCI Trials World Championships concluded on Saturday, in Val di Sole, Italy, with titles awarded in the 26" categories for Junior and Elite Men. France took their second title of the Championships, while Great Britain won their first ever Elite title in the discipline.
In the Junior Men's 26" final, it was the favourite, Nicolas Vallée of France, who won the rainbow jersey, with a very low score of 3 points. Jordi Araque of Spain won silver with 19 points, followed by another French rider, Noah Cardona, in the bronze medal position with 20 points.
The final title to be awarded was the Elite Men's 26", which went to Jack Carthy of Great Britain, the dominant rider of 2016, who finished with a total of nine points. Gilles Coustellier of France was a distant second, with 25 points, followed by Kenny Belaey of Belgium with 26 points. Carthy came into the World Championships with three consecutive World Cup wins.
The Championships saw France and Spain finish tied with two world titles each, followed by Germany and Great Britain with one each. Spain and France each finished with two gold, two silver, and one bronze.
