LA28 Olympic Games: mountain bike to take place at City of Industry

Next to Pacific Palms Resort

The competitions for mountain bike at the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028 will take place at the Industry Hills MTB Course in the City of Industry Zone, Los Angeles County.

The announcement was made with just under three years to go until the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The mountain bike course will be situated adjacent to the Pacific Palms resort, leveraging the site’s natural topography and hilly landscape. The course will be built as part of a broader site improvement plan and will remain as a legacy of the 2028 Games.

Mountain bike joined the Olympic programme at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games. Road and track have been part of the Olympics since Athens 1896, while BMX Racing joined the programme in Beijing in 2008 and BMX Freestyle at the Tokyo 2020 Games.

As a reminder, LA28 venue announcements were made in June and July 2024 concerning BMX Racing (Valley Complex 4) and BMX Freestyle (Valley Complex 1) in the Valley Zone, and track cycling (Carson Velodrome) in the Carson Zone. While the official road race starts have been confirmed at the historic Los Angeles beachfront neighborhood Venice Beach, the full road race route and finish venue, as well as details for the time trials, are yet to be announced.
