Next week, the UCI will once again be partnering with Autonomy – the international exhibition for sustainable mobility solutions. Traditionally held in Paris, the 2020 edition will be 100% digital. It will take place on 4-5 November and free for all participants.
The event will feature Interactive virtual stands, conferences and live demonstrations, business meeting videos and networking. The extensive ‘Industry Talks’ programme will include a total of 150 speakers with more than 50 sessions and 7 sector themes; active & micro-mobility, shared mobility, Mobility as a Service (MaaS), AI & autonomous, corporate mobility, physical & digital infrastructure and urban logistics. In addition, the new “Get Our Cities Moving” programme, developed in partnership with POLIS (the network of European cities and regions cooperating for innovative transport solutions) will focus on providing cities and public authorities with innovative solutions that can improve mobility in cities.
As part of this partnership, the UCI will contribute to the discussions under the active mobility theme: the UCI’s Advocacy and Development Manager, Isabella Burczak, will participate in a panel entitled “Getting cities cycling”. She will be alongside speakers representing BYCS (an Amsterdam-based social enterprise driven by the belief that bicycles transform cities and cities transform the world), CONEBI (the Confederation of the European Bicycle Industry) and the city of Buenos Aires. The round table will focus on how cities can enhance and promote the use of bicycles for transport, whilst capitalising on the current cycling boom witnessed across all continents during the COVID-19 pandemic. Topics addressed will include infrastructures, safety and inclusivity, cultural change and technology. Moderated by Ross Douglas, the CEO and Founder of Autonomy, the panel will take place on Thursday 5 November at 7pm CET.
