The UCI is pleased to announce that the 2015 UCI Four-cross World Championships will take place in Val di Sole, Italy, on August 20 and 21.
The UCI World Championships for this exciting mountain bike format will be held in parallel with the final Olympic cross-country and downhill rounds of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup presented by Shimano (August 22 and 23).
Val di Sole is a well known mountain bike destination for the world’s Elite, having hosted the 2008 UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships as well as six rounds of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup since 2006.
UCI President Brian Cookson welcomed the announcement: “Combining the final round of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup presented by Shimano and the UCI Four-cross World Championships will lead to a spectacular few days of mountain bike competition. Val di Sole has a successful history of organising UCI mountain bike events and we can only look forward to returning this year for a double event.”
The UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships will begin one week later (August 31 – September 6) in Vallnord, Andorra. This event will see the UCI World Champions crowned for cross-country Olympic, cross-country Eliminator, cross country Olympic team relay, downhill and trials.
