25 August |Hamburg - Germany
As is tradition, the EuroEyes Cyclassics Hamburg ended in a bunch finish. And as is the tradition – at least of recent years - Italian Elia Viviani (Deceuninck - Quick-Step) outpaced his rivals in that bunch sprint. It was the European Champion’s third consecutive victory on the routes of Hamburg. After a relatively flat 216km course – with nevertheless four ascensions of the 700m Waseberg – Viviani enjoyed a perfect lead-in from team mate Michael Morkov, finally steaming past to beat Caleb Ewan (Lotto Soudal) and Giacomo Nizzolo (Team Dimension Data) to the line.

22-25 August | Norway
It was a perfect day for Dutchwoman Marianne Vos (CCC-Liv) in Norway on Sunday as she sprinted to victory in the final stage of the Ladies Tour of Norway, also claiming overall victory in the four-day stage race and moving into the lead of the UCI Women’s WorldTour individual ranking. Vos won three consecutive stages – two, three and four - to successfully defend last year’s Norwegian victory. The only other rider to don the leader’s jersey in Norway was stage-one winner and fellow Dutchwoman Lorena Wiebes (Parkhotel Valkenburg), who finally finished fifth in the overall final classification. Second and third after the four stages are two Team Sunweb riders Coryn Rivera (USA) and Leah Kirchmann (Canada).

23-25 August | Val di Sole - Italy
All three trials UCI World Champions claimed victory in the second round of the UCI Trials World Cup. Defending winner from Val di Sole Nina Reichenbach again proved herself on Italian soil, claiming victory at the venue where she also won her first UCI World Championships in 2016. Reichenbach takes over the UCI World Cup lead from round one winner Vera Barón (Spain). In the Men’s 20” competition, Thomas Pechhacker (Austria) dominated his final to take the win from Dominik Oswald (Germany) and round one winner Alejandro Montalvo (Spain). Finally, in the Men’s 26”, UCI World Champion Great Britain’s Jack Carthy achieved a perfect score of 300 points, relegating last year’s Val di Sole winner Nicolas Vallée into second.
