3-8 September | the Netherlands

Christine Majerus (Boels Dolmans CyclingTeam) won the Dutch stage race after moving up from 10th to first on the fourth and penultimate stage. The rider from Luxembourg started the final 154.8km stage from Nijmegen to Arnhem with a 30s lead over Lisa Klein (Canyon // SRAM Racing), with Lorena Wiebes (Parkhotel Valkenburg) another 2s further back. Finishing in a reduced bunch on Sunday, Majerus kept her 30s lead over Klein, while Wiebes sneaked through for second overall, 26s behind the winner. Majerus takes over from 2018 Boels Ladies Tour winner Annemiek van Vleuten (Mitchelton Scott), who dominated the opening prologue but announced she would not be aiming for the overall.

6-8 September | Snowshoe, USA

One week after being crowned XCO UCI World Champion, Pauline Ferrand-Prévot confirmed with a win in Snowshoe ahead of Anne Terpstra (the Netherlands) and Great Britain’s Annie Last. The French winner finishes the UCI World Cup season third in the overall standings behind the USA’s Kate Courtney and Switzerland’s Jolanda Neff, 5th and 11th respectively in Snowshoe. Meanwhile Men Elite UCI World Champion Nino Schurter had to bow down to fellow Swiss Lars Forster on Sunday but finishes the season with the overall UCI World Cup win.

Elite downhill UCI World Champions Loïc Bruni and Myriam Nicole finished fourth and second respectively in Snowshoe after hard-fought competitions that saw Elite Men victory go to Great Britain’s Danny Hart and the Elite Women’s win claimed for the third time running by Marine Cabirou, third at the Worlds. Australian Tracey Hannah needed a top-six finish to claim the overall UCI World Cup title, and scraped in at 5th place to do just that. Bruni is the overall winner in the Elite Men’s competition although fellow Frenchman Amaury Pierron got uncomfortably close and nothing was decided until end of play on Sunday. The two Frenchmen finish their UCI World Cup campaigns on 1462 points and 1422 points respectively.

24 August -15 September | Spain

Primož Roglič (Team Jumbo Visma) is still in the lead of the Spanish Grand Tour after Sunday’s 15th stage between Tineo and Santuario del Acebo. Going into the last week of racing, he is 2:25 clear of UCI World Champion Alejandro Valverde (Team Movistar), with Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) at 3:43. It was a double celebration on for Team Jumbo Visma on Sunday, with Roglič’s team mate Sepp Kuss taking his first Grand Tour stage win after attacking on the final climb with 6.6km to go.
