2020 UCI Mountain Bike Eliminator World Cup: postponement of rounds in Waregem (Belgium) and Valkenswaard (the Netherlands)

Due to the current pandemic (Covid-19) linked to the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) must announce that the fourth and fifth rounds of the 2020 UCI Mountain Bike Eliminator World Cup powered by citymountainbike.com which were due to take place respectively in Waregem (Belgium) on 14 August and in Valkenswaard (the Netherlands) on 16 August, will not take place on these scheduled dates.

The UCI supports these decisions made by the organisers, which contribute to the protection of the health of riders, those involved in the event and the fans, and aims to slow the spread of Covid-19.

The UCI and the organisers will work together to set new dates for these events, if conditions allow.

The UCI shares the disappointment of the mountain bike community following the decisions to postpone the Waregem and Valkenswaard events and would like to thank the organisers for their cooperation in this difficult situation, as well as the riders, teams and all parties involved for their understanding.

As a reminder, it will also endeavour, if at all possible, to set new dates for the first three rounds of the 2020 UCI Mountain Bike Eliminator World Cup, which were scheduled to take place in Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Barcelona (Spain) and Villard-de-Lans (France), and which also had to be postponed           .
