2020 UCI Mountain Bike Eliminator World Cup powered by citymountainbike.com: round in Villard-de-Lans, France, postponed

Due to the current pneumonia pandemic (Covid-19) linked to the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) must announce that the third round of the 2020 UCI Mountain Bike Eliminator World Cup powered by citymountainbike.com which was to take place in Villard-de-Lans, France, on 5 June won’t be held at the original date.

In light of the current situation, the UCI fully supports the fact that the running of the event would have potentially presented a health risk to riders, to everyone involved in the event and to fans, and could have contributed to the spread of Covid-19.

The UCI and the organising committee will work together to establish a new date, if conditions permit.

The UCI shares the disappointment of the mountain bike community after the decision made to cancel the Villard-de-Lans event and would like to thank the organisers for their cooperation in this difficult situation, as well as the riders, teams and all parties involved for their understanding.

As a reminder, the UCI notes that the rounds of Dubai (UAE) and Barcelona (Spain) have also been rescheduled in the context of the coronavirus, pending new dates.
