Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) regrets to announce that the round of the 2021 Tissot UCI Track Cycling Nations Cup, which should have opened the series in Newport, Wales (Great Britain), from 22 to 25 April, has been cancelled at the request of the organisers as a result of Covid-19 alert levels and related restrictions currently in operation in Wales.
The UCI is currently working to find an alternative solution to guarantee that the 2021 Tissot UCI Track Cycling Nations Cup takes place in the format initially established.
The other rounds of the series (formerly the UCI Track Cycling World Cup) to be organised in Hong Kong (China) and Cali (Colombia) will take place respectively from 13 to 16 May and from 3 to 6 June 2021.
The UCI thanks the organisers for their cooperation in this difficult situation, as well as the riders, National Federations, teams and all concerned parties for their understanding.
