The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) today announces that Saint Petersburg (Russia) will host a round of the 2021 Tissot UCI Track Cycling Nations Cup from 8 to 11 July. This means the original format of three rounds of the series can be maintained despite the cancellation of the Newport event in Wales (Great Britain), initially scheduled for 22-25 April. The cancellation of Newport was due to the Covid-19 alert level and related restrictions in force in Wales.
As a reminder, the round in Hong Kong (China) took place from 13 to 16 May, and the round in Cali (Colombia), which was scheduled for 3-6 June, has been postponed to a later date which will be announced as soon as possible.
Registrations for the Saint Petersburg round of the Tissot UCI Track Cycling Nations Cup are now open and can be completed on the UCI website, following the usual procedure, until midday (CEST) on Sunday 13 June.
The UCI would like to thank the city of Saint Petersburg and the organisers for their cooperation in these difficult times, and is pleased, for the riders and their teams, to be able to ensure the staging of three rounds.
Covid-19 pandemic: keeping track of events on the UCI International Calendar that are postponed or cancelled.
