2026 UCI Mobility & Bike City Forum: Final speakers announced

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and the City of Athens are pleased to announce final programme updates for the 2026 UCI Mobility and Bike City Forum, which will take place in Athens (Greece) on 10–11 May 2026.

Organised in collaboration with Kyvernitis Travel Group, this year’s edition will begin with a series of interactive activities organised alongside the ΔΕΗ Tour of Hellas on Sunday 10 May. The official dinner that evening will be held at Athens City Hall, symbolising the City’s central role and long‑term commitment to advancing sustainable urban mobility and cycling through policy, leadership and international cooperation. The evening will also feature the 2026 UCI Cycling for All & Sustainability Awards ceremony.

On Monday 11 May, following the official opening remarks, a keynote address will be delivered by Carly Gilbert‑Patrick, Secretary‑General of the International Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport (SLOCAT). A globally recognised leader in sustainable mobility, Carly Gilbert-Patrick brings extensive experience advancing inclusive, healthy and low‑carbon transport systems, having led transformative programmes with governments and partners across Africa, Asia and Latin America. Formerly heading the United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP’s) Sustainable Mobility Unit, she played a key role in shaping the Pan‑African Action Plan for Active Mobility and has worked from global policy processes through to city‑level implementation, including major initiatives at Transport for London. Her keynote will set the tone for discussions on how cycling and active mobility can help cities deliver more resilient, people‑centred and climate‑aligned transport systems.

Further strengthening the programme, several prominent figures have been confirmed to speak at the Forum. Alongside theMayor of Athens Haris Doukas, UCI President David Lappartient, andPresident of the Hellenic Cycling Federation Vasilios Diamantopoulos, the President of the European Olympic Committees and International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board member Spyros Capralos will join the official welcome speakers in the morning. Stelios Diakoulakis, Deputy Regional Director for Europe at C40 Cities, and Tony Mitchell, UCI Cycling for All & Sustainable Cycling Commission President and UCI Management Committee member, will join the panel discussion examining how cities are reshaping street networks and mobility systems to grow cycling.
