The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) today launches its call for applications for the second UCI Cycling for All & Sustainability Awards. Candidates have until 15 April to apply for one of the 2025 awards.
First organised in 2024, these awards recognise and highlight outstanding initiatives implemented by members of the cycling family (including professional riders, teams, National Federations, event organisers and UCI Bike Cities and Regions) that have positive social and environmental impact, promote active mobility and encourage everyday cycling.
In December 2024, the UCI rewarded the four following organisations for their inspirational projects:
UCI Cycling for All Award: AusCycling – AusBike
UCI Climate Action Award: HERO Dolomites – HERO TO ZERO
UCI Bike City Award: Copenhagen (Denmark) – Copenhagen Cycle Superhighway collaboration
UCI Rainbow Award: BEAT Cycling Club – the first ever TRAINingcamp.
In 2025, awards will again be presented in the four established categories:
UCI Cycling for All award: for a cycling initiative with significant social impact
UCI Climate Action award: for a cycling initiative with positive environmental impact
UCI Bike City award: for the most innovative project submitted by UCI Bike Cities and Regions
UCI Rainbow award: a special discretionary award selected by the UCI out of all submissions.
Further details regarding the awards, including application criteria and links to the online application forms, are available on the UCI website.
Applicants are requested to fill in the relevant online questionnaire(s) by Tuesday 15 April 2025. An expert jury will then select the winners in the four categories.
The UCI will announce the award winners during the 2025 UCI Mobility & Bike City Forum, being held on 20-21 June in Copenhagen, Denmark, as part of the Copenhagen Cycling Summit. Forum participants will also have the opportunity to attend the Copenhagen Sprint, which is a new event on the calendars of the UCI Women’s WorldTour (21 June) and UCI WorldTour (22 June) and which will feature a wide range of side activities, including rides for the public and a bicycle festival.
