Cancellation of 2020 UCI Masters Track Cycling World Championships and Final of the 2020 UCI Artistic Cycling World Cup and communication of dates of 2021 UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic linked to the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) regrets to announce that the 2020 UCI Masters Track Cycling World Championships, which should have taken place in Manchester (Great Britain) from 10 to 17 October, are cancelled at the request of the organisers. The UCI looks forward to seeing the athletes and all concerned parties at the 2021 edition of the event, which will take place in Los Angeles (United States), on dates to be confirmed at a later stage.

The UCI also announces the cancellation of the Final of the 2020 UCI Artistic Cycling World Cup, which was the only UCI event for the discipline (UCI World Cup rounds and UCI World Championships) still on the 2020 UCI International Calendar. It had been scheduled to take place on 21 November in Albstadt (Germany).

The UCI shares the disappointment of the track cycling and indoor cycling communities, and thanks the respective organisers for their cooperation in these difficult circumstances.

Following the cancellation of the 2020 edition of the UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships that had been scheduled to take place in Cairo (Egypt) from 16 to 21 August, the UCI announced that the same venue would host the 2021 edition of the event. It is now able to communicate the dates: it will take place from 5 to 9 April 2021. As a reminder, the 2021 UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships had been awarded to Tel Aviv; however, in a spirit of solidarity with their Egyptian counterpart affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Israeli organisers accepted to postpone their event to 2022, from 16 to 20 August.
