Cancellation of the 4th round of the 2018 UCI BMX Freestyle Park and Flatland World Cup

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and its partner Hurricane confirm the cancellation of the 4th round of the 2018 UCI BMX Freestyle Park and Flatland World Cup, initially scheduled to take place in Budapest (Hungary) from 7 to 9 September.

Following successful competitions held in Hiroshima (Japan), Montpellier (France) and recently Edmonton (Canada) the series heads to Chengdu (China), which will host the final event of the season. This Chinese city will also host the 2018 UCI Urban Cycling World Championships, an event that will crown, amongst others, the UCI BMX Freestyle (Park and Flat) World Champions.

Recognised by the UCI in 2015, BMX Freestyle Park is continuing its development at the highest level as it will be part of the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Argentina (6 to 18 October) as well as the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in Japan. In addition, in 2018, Flatland became the latest BMX speciality to be recognised by the UCI.
