The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and the event's Organising Committee are pleased to unveil today the calendar for the 2027 UCI Cycling World Championships Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc (France), which will take place from 24 August to 5 September 2027.
Over nearly two weeks, the largest cycling event ever organised will bring together more than 15,000 athletes — from the world's greatest champions to the best amateurs — representing the 206 National Federations affiliated to the UCI. Competitors will contest 288 UCI World Champion titles across 20 separate UCI World Championships, held across 16 competition venues. The majority of events will take place in the Haute-Savoie department in the French Alps, while the track cycling events will be hosted at Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, near Paris.
The first week will launch the event with highlights including the gravel events in Châtel-Portes du Soleil on 26 and 27 August, the BMX Freestyle Flatland finals in Cluses on 26 August, the BMX Racing finals (venue to be confirmed) on 27 August, and the mountain bike downhill finals in Les Gets on 27 and 28 August. The week will culminate in one of the most anticipated moments of the championships: the Men Elite road race in Sallanches-Domancy-Pays du Mont-Blanc on 29 August, on a course that will include the mythical Domancy climb, the scene of Bernard Hinault's world title in 1980.
The second week will build on this momentum, beginning with the road time trials around Lake Annecy on 30 August with the Junior individual events, followed by the Elite races on 1 September. The action continues with the mountain bike cross-country Olympic events in Les Gets from 2 to 4 September, trials in Sallanches-Pays du Mont-Blanc from 30 August to 3 September, and the BMX Freestyle Park finals in Cluses on 4 September. Throughout the week, indoor disciplines will also take centre stage, with cycling esports in Évian on 31 August and 1 September, cycle speedway on 30 August, and artistic cycling and cycle-ball in La Roche-sur-Foron from 3 to 5 September. The 2027 UCI Cycling World Championships will conclude with the Women Elite road race on 5 September in Sallanches-Domancy-Pays du Mont-Blanc.
Meanwhile, the track events will be held across three separate sessions at the Vélodrome National de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, the venue that hosted track cycling at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Junior events will get things underway from 16 to 20 August, before giving way to the Elite events which will take place from 26 to 30 August. The para cycling track events, for their part, will take place from 1 to 5 September.

Each day will feature events across multiple disciplines, with key moments throughout. This will encourage continuous media coverage from the first day to the last, whilst also giving the two million expected spectators the chance to discover the full breadth of cycling disciplines as part of a major celebration of the sport. Cycling as a whole will benefit from an extraordinary 13 consecutive days of international visibility.
The event programme has also been designed to encourage versatile athletes to compete across multiple UCI World Championships disciplines. Indeed, many athletes regularly line up in more than one discipline, for example in road and mountain bike, road and track, gravel and mountain bike, and para cycling road and track.
The programme also reflects a commitment to making inclusion and gender parity central to the event. Para cycling events will feature throughout all 13 days of competition, with the para cycling road mixed relay opening the medal count on 25 August in Rumilly.
Fully committed to parity in its sporting programme, the event will offer as many women's events as men's. The women's competitions will be spread throughout the entirety of the event, with another powerful symbol being the Elite Women road race closing the programme on 5 September.

Each discipline will have its moment, every athlete their chance to shine, and every spectator will experience something unique at the heart of the greatest cycling event in the world.”
President of the Haute-Savoie Departmental Council Martial Saddier said: “For thirteen days, Haute-Savoie will become the world capital of women’s cycling, men’s cycling and para cycling. Beyond the competition itself, we want to put on a true festival of cycling, where everyone can share in the emotion of sport, discover new disciplines, and experience something exceptional in the heart of our mountains.”
Bernard Hinault, ambassador for the 2027 UCI Cycling World Championships in Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc, said: “I was fortunate enough to become UCI World Champion in Sallanches in 1980. To see the world's best cyclists return here, across all disciplines and with para cycling fully integrated, is something truly special. I am certain that this edition will go down in the history of our sport.”
