In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) has to announce that the third round of the 2021 Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, which was to have hosted the first downhill races of the series in Fort William (Great Britain) on 22 and 23 May, is cancelled.
Organisers were forced to make this decision after concluding that it would be impossible to hold the event to the safety standards imposed by the current pandemic.
In coordination with the organisers, the UCI is currently reviewing a postponement or other options with a view to delivering a full UCI Mercedes Benz Mountain Bike series in 2021.
The UCI would like to thank the event organisers for their cooperation in this difficult situation, as well as the riders, teams and all parties concerned for their understanding.
