The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is pleased to announce the list of nations qualified for the 2018 UCI Road World Championships in Innsbruck-Tirol, Austria, and the quotas of athletes allocated to them.
The 2018 UCI Road World Championships will take place from 23 to 30 September and will comprise 12 events in the following race formats: UCI Team Time Trials, Individual Time Trials, and Road Races.
Participation is expected to be similar as in 2017 where 77 nations were represented by a total of 922 athletes in Bergen, Norway.
New for 2018 is the maximum quota for the Men Elite Road Race of 8 starters for the top 10 nations instead of 9 starters as in previous years. Also for the Men Elite Road Race, and according to UCI Regulations, National Federations have until the 20th of August to confirm the number of athletes entered.
