Following the postponement of the 2021 UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships in Cairo (Egypt) announced in the press release published at the end of the UCI Management Committee meeting on 4 February, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) today reveals that the event will take place from 1 to 5 September at the same venue.
The decision to postpone the event had been taken due, in large part, to the travel restrictions imposed on riders because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Indeed, it is important to ensure a good participation in these UCI World Championships and provide the Junior athletes, particularly affected by travel restrictions, with the best possible conditions in which to compete.
The 2021 UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships in Cairo had initially been scheduled to take place from 5 to 9 April.
