Renewal of the UCI Athletes’ Commission: candidates standing to represent road cycling

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is pleased to announce that three athletes (two women and one man) have put themselves forward as candidates for the position of road cycling representative on the UCI Athletes' Commission.

One woman and one man will be elected to the Commission. The candidates are as follows:

Women
  • Megan Jastrab (USA)

  • Juliette Labous (FRA).

Men
  • Toms Skujiņš (LAT).

All athletes competing in the Elite and Under 23 categories at the 2025 UCI Road World Championships being held in Kigali (Rwanda) from 21 to 28 September will be able to vote for one of the two female candidates standing to represent road cycling on the UCI Athletes’ Commission. Voting will take place from 10h30 to midday on 27 September.

The result of the election will be published on the UCI website on 28 September.

However, no election will be necessary for road cycling’s male representative. Toms Skujiņš was the only man to have submitted his candidacy by the required deadline. As he meets the eligibility requirements, his appointment for the next term of the UCI Athletes' Commission is therefore confirmed without the necessity for an election.

Toms Skujiņš will therefore represent road cycling on the UCI Athletes’ Commission from September 2025.

The members of the UCI Athletes' Commission are elected for a four-year term which will begin at the 2025 UCI Congress in Kigali – or on the date of their election for members elected after the UCI Congress – and will end at the 2029 UCI Congress in Copenhagen (Denmark).

The renewal process for the UCI Athletes' Commission will be completed with the election of its President, which will take place on 12 November 2025 in Aigle, Switzerland.
