Renewal of UCI Athletes’ Commission: candidates standing to represent BMX Freestyle and trials

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is pleased to announce that two athletes (one woman and one man) are standing as candidates for the role of BMX Freestyle representative and five athletes (two women and three men) for that of trials representative on the UCI Athletes' Commission.

One woman and one man will be elected to the Commission for each of these two disciplines. The candidates are:

BMX Freestyle

  • Women: Cory Coffey (USA)

  • Men: Daniel Dhers (VEN).

Trials

  • Women: Maïlys Jouy (FRA) and Nina Vabre (FRA).

  • Men: Jonas Friedrich (GER), Louis Grillon (FRA) and Loïc Vuilleme (SUI).

No election will be necessary for BMX Freestyle’s two representatives. Cory Coffey and Daniel Dhers were the only BMX Freestyle athletes to have submitted their candidacy by the 26 October deadline, and as both meet the eligibility requirements, their appointment for the next term of the UCI Athletes' Commission is confirmed.

For trials, all athletes competing in the discipline’s Elite categories at the 2025 UCI Urban Cycling World Championships, which will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 4 to 8 November, will be able to vote for one of the two female candidates and one of the three male candidates standing to represent trials on the UCI Athletes’ Commission. Voting will take place on site on 4 November from 9:30am to 11:30am. The results of the election will be published on the UCI website on 5 November.

Cory Coffey and Daniel Dhers represent BMX Freestyle on the UCI Athletes' Commission as of now.

The members of the UCI Athletes' Commission will be elected for a four-year term. The mandate of members elected before the 2025 UCI Congress in Kigali (Rwanda), began on 25 September. The mandate of members elected after the UCI Congress begins on the date of their election. The mandates will end at the 2029 UCI Congress in Copenhagen (Denmark).

The UCI Athletes' Commission renewal process will end with the election of its President, which will take place during the first meeting of the newly-composed Commission, on 12 November 2025.
