The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is pleased to announce that five athletes (two women and three men) have put themselves forward as candidates for the position of mountain bike representative on the UCI Athletes' Commission.
One woman and one man will be elected to the Commission for each of the two specialities represented (cross-country and downhill). The candidates are as follows:
Cross-country
Women: Anne Terpstra (NED)
Men: Christopher Blevins (USA)
Downhill
Women: Valentina Höll (AUT)
Men: Loïc Bruni (FRA) and Andreas Kolb (AUT)
All athletes competing in the Elite and Under 23 categories at the 2025 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships being held in Valais, Switzerland, from 1 to 14 September will be able to vote for one of the two male candidates standing to represent mountain bike downhill on the UCI Athletes’ Commission. Voting will take place on site on 5 September from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
The result of this election will be published on the UCI website on 6 September.
However, no election will be necessary for the two cross-country representatives and the female downhill representative. Anne Terpstra and Christopher Blevins were the only cross-country specialists and Valentina Höll was the only female downhill specialist to submit their candidacy before the 20 August deadline. All three meet the eligibility requirements, and their appointment for the next term of the UCI Athletes' Commission is therefore confirmed.
Anne Terpstra and Christopher Blevins will represent mountain bike cross-country and Valentina Höll will represent mountain bike downhill on the UCI Athletes' Commission from September 2025.
The members of the UCI Athletes' Commission are elected for a four-year term. This term will begin at the 2025 UCI Congress in Kigali (Rwanda), or for members elected after this date, on the date of their election, and will end at the 2029 UCI Congress in Copenhagen (Denmark).
The UCI Athletes' Commission renewal process will end with the election of its President, which will take place during the first meeting of the newly-composed Commission, on 12 November 2025.
