Renewal of UCI Athletes’ Commission: Road candidates unveiled

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is delighted to announce that five riders (three women and two men) are candidates for the role of road representative on the UCI Athletes' Commission. One female and one male athlete will be elected to represent the discipline on the Commission. Candidates are:

Women

  • Sofiia Shevchenko (UKR) – Liv Cycling Team (CTW)

  • Ruth Winder (USA) – Trek-Segafredo (WTW)

  • Varvara Fasoi (GRE) – Eneicat - RBH Global - Martin Villa (CTW)

Men

  • Toms Skujiņš (LAT) – Trek-Segafredo (WTT)

  • Philippe Gilbert (BEL) – Lotto Soudal (WTT)

All athletes participating in the 2021 UCI Road World Championships Men and Women Elite races between 19 and 26 September in Flanders (Belgium), will be able to vote for one representative per gender. Voting stations will be set up before the signature podium at the start of the road races and at the exit of the mixed-zone of the Women Elite and Men Elite road races.

The election results will be published on the UCI website on 28 September 2021.

The members of the Commission will be elected for a term of four years, starting from the 2021 UCI Congress and running until the UCI Congress in 2025.
