The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is delighted to announce that four riders (two women and two men) are candidates for the role of track cycling representative on the UCI Athletes' Commission. One female and one male athlete will be elected to represent the discipline on the Commission. The candidates are:
Women:
Shanne Braspennincx (NED),
Kirstie Klingenberg (NZL).
Men:
Theo Reinhardt (GER),
Elia Viviani (ITA).
All athletes participating in the 2021 Tissot UCI Track Cycling World Championships taking place from 20 to 24 October in Roubaix (France) will be able to vote for one representative per gender. A voting booth will be set up each day in the centre of the track during the warm-up hour before the evening session.
The election results will be published on the UCI website on 26 October.
The members of the Commission will be elected for a term of four years, that will begin once all members have been elected (ie after the election organised at the last UCI World Championships of the year).
