The UCI and BigMat announce a four-year partnership that will culminate with the 2027 UCI Cycling World Championships

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and the BigMat Group, Europe's leading independent distributor of building materials, are today pleased to announce a four-year partnership covering several UCI World Championships, starting in 2024.

BigMat will become Official Partner of the following seven events:

  • 2024 UCI Road and Para-cycling Road World Championships (Zurich, Switzerland)

  • 2025 UCI Road World Championships (Kigali, Rwanda)

  • 2026 UCI Road World Championships (Montreal, Canada)

  • 2024 UCI Track World Championships (Ballerup, Denmark)

  • 2025 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships (Liévin, France)

  • 2026 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships (Val di Sole, Italy)

  • 2027 UCI Cycling World Championships (Haute-Savoie, France).

As part of this collaboration, BigMat will support the UCI Road World Championships during the first three years of the partnership, as well as the UCI World Championships in three other disciplines during the same period, before supporting the second edition of the UCI Cycling World Championships, an event which will bring together various UCI World Championships for twelve days in the French department of Haute-Savoie.

BigMat is the first Official Partner officially announced for the 2027 UCI Cycling World Championships.

BigMat is a well-known player in cycling. The company has been heavily involved in supporting our sport through its sponsorship of UCI Teams over many years since the middle of the 1990s, and as a partner of several UCI World Championships organised in France in 2022: for mountain bike in Les Gets, BMX Racing in Nantes and track in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. BigMat was also Official Partner of the first UCI Cycling World Championships, which brought together 13 UCI World Championships in Glasgow and across Scotland (United Kingdom) in 2023.

UCI President David Lappartient said: “After its investment as Official Partner of the inaugural UCI Cycling World Championships held in Glasgow and across Scotland in 2023, BigMat is strengthening its support for cycling by becoming Official Partner not only of the second UCI Cycling World Championships, in 2027, but also of six other UCI World Championships between 2024 and 2026. This extension and broadening of our partnership bears witness to the success of the UCI World Championships, which combine the various disciplines of our sport, and to the growing appeal of our major events. I look forward to strengthening our collaboration with BigMat, which will contribute to our work to promote elite cycling and cycling as an activity that leads to a healthier life."

BigMat International President Fabrice Maud said: ‘We are extremely honoured to become an Official Partner of several leading UCI World Championships. This partnership will enable BigMat to play a key role in the development and promotion of cycling worldwide, both as a competitive sport and as an activity that contributes to a healthy lifestyle. Cycling also embodies values such as effort, perseverance, respect for the environment and innovation, values that we share at BigMat. Until 2027, BigMat and the UCI will work hand in hand to provide exceptional cycling experiences, support international cycling events and encourage greater participation at all levels of the sport. This strategic partnership represents a unique opportunity for BigMat to partner with a prestigious organisation and contribute to the future of cycling.
