The UCI and GoPro renew their partnership for another year

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is pleased to announce the renewal of its partnership with GoPro for another year.

GoPro continues its support of mountain bike as the Official Partner of the 2022 Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup – which comprises 11 rounds – and the 2022 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships, taking place in Les Gets (France) from 24 to 28 August.

A partner of these two events since 2013, GoPro enables the UCI to benefit from its expertise in the use of mounted cameras to capture images at training sessions and races, live images of UCI World Cup events and UCI World Championships, and to shoot behind-the-scenes mountain bike footage. With their unique technology, GoPro cameras are able to deliver extremely spectacular sequences filmed by athletes in action, be it downhill runs or other content offering fans an immersive experience.

GoPro will provide the UCI with products to produce its own digital content at events it owns and the two partners will collaborate closely on the promotion and sale of products on the UCI’s online platforms.

The UCI President David Lappartient declared: “The renewal of the partnership linking our Federation to GoPro is excellent news for all mountain bike fans, who can continue to enjoy a close-up experience of the action at the discipline’s major competitions. The extension of our collaboration is proof that mountain bike is a very appealing discipline, not only for the public but also for sponsors wishing to associate their brand and their products with the best of a popular and spectacular sport.”

GoPro Director Marketing EMEA Martin Steinbach stated: “We are proud to continue our partnership for the Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup and the 2022 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships and enable the most immersive content that takes viewers right to the centre of the action. Thanks to our flagship camera HERO10 Black and its advanced stabilization technology HyperSmooth 4.0, anyone at home can enjoy the smoothest, most gripping runs the world’s best riders have to offer.”
