The UCI and GoPro renew their partnership for two years

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is delighted to announce the extension of its partnership with GoPro through 2019 and 2020.

This two-year agreement will see GoPro continue its support of mountain bike as the Official Partner of the Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup and the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships presented by Mercedes-Benz.

Since 2014, GoPro has been a key partner of our Federation in the use of mounted cameras to capture recorded images at training sessions and races, live images at UCI World Cup events and UCI World Championships, and shoot behind-the-scenes mountain bike footage.

With the new HERO7, GoPro offers fans an even more immersive experience thanks to its new live streaming option and its HyperSmooth stabilization system.

The extension of the UCI’s partnership with GoPro is the latest example of the willingness of major international brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Shimano, Oakley, Mitas and Red Bull to use our events as a way of showcasing their products to an ever-growing audience.

UCI President David Lappartient said: “The renewal of the partnership with GoPro will be well received by mountain bike fans, who can avail themselves of the latest developments in our partner’s cameras and thus experience the discipline from the inside. At a time when enhancing the appeal of our sport, particularly in terms of images and broadcasts, is a priority of ours, this extension comes as excellent news.”

GoPro Chief Marketing Officer Todd Ballard said: “GoPro is proud to continue our long-standing partnership with UCI and delivering unique perspectives to the global mountain bike community. Audiences will be blown away by the ultra-smooth video that our latest HERO7 Black delivers with its game-changing HyperSmooth stabilization.”
