The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) has renewed its partnership with The Sufferfest, which will again be the Official Training App and Training Plan Supplier for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in 2018.
The Sufferfest, creators of a comprehensive indoor training system for cyclists and endurance athletes, will provide athletes who qualify for the 2018 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships access to the full suite of training resources included in The Sufferfest Complete Training System. In collaboration with their partners, APEX Coaching, they have created dedicated training plans designed to prepare athletes specifically for the road race and time trial events at this year’s Gran Fondo Worlds.
The UCI Gran Fondo World Championships is the final event of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series, a collection of 21 races in 19 countries for amateur riders. The fastest 25% of each category at any qualifying event are invited to represent their countries in Varese, Italy, from August 30th to September 2nd, 2018, for the chance to earn the prestigious UCI World Champion’s rainbow jersey.
The Sufferfest have been partners of the UCI since 2010, and this is the second consecutive year they have been involved with the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships.
David McQuillen, CEO of The Sufferfest, said: “With the renewal of this partnership, we are delighted to continue supporting the UCI in its work to encourage and promote cycling at all levels worldwide. Most of those competing in the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships have to fit their training around full-time jobs, and our structured workouts, training programmes, and Four-Dimensional Power platform are designed to deliver maximum benefit with minimum time.”
