The UCI announces new calendars and initiates reflection on the participation of athletes in the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) announces the publication of the 2024 UCI Indoor Cycling International Calendar on its website.Approved by the UCI Management Committee, this calendar includes the rounds of the 2024 UCI Cycle-ball World Cup and the 2024 UCI Artistic Cycling World Cup, as well as the 2024 UCI Indoor Cycling World Championships, which will be held in Bremen, Germany, from 25 to 27 October.

The UCI also announces that the 2024 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) will now take place from 20 to 24 March, rather than from 21 to 24 March as originally scheduled. This decision was taken, in agreement with the organiser, due to the increase in the number of athletes registered for the event. This reflects the sharp growth in the number of participants in international para-cycling events over the last three years.

Finally, the UCI has decided to initiate reflection on the participation of athletes in the rounds of the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup and other events on the discipline’s UCI International Calendar in order to guarantee the coherence of its major events. Indeed, it is essential for the UCI to ensure a balance between the various major cyclo-cross events and the participation of athletes in these competitions.
