The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) announces that the UCI E-Mountain Bike Cross-country World Cup will not take place in 2026.
This decision was made following an evaluation of the series and the observation that its development, under the responsibility of WES Management, did not meet the expected international growth objectives. Given the outlook for the coming years and the evolution of the various mountain bike formats, the UCI wishes to conduct a review of E-mountain bike to enable different stakeholders to agree on the next steps for the development of the discipline.
The UCI would like to clarify that E-mountain bike cross-country will remain part of the programme of the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships, the next edition of which will take place in Val di Sole, Italy, from 26 to 30 August.
Since its launch in 2021, the UCI E-Mountain Bike Cross-country World Cup has played a key role in structuring the format internationally. The series has brought together the world’s leading E-mountain bike cross-country specialists, while also providing a platform for E-bike manufacturers to promote their bikes and for organisers to showcase their region as a prime destination for outdoor activities – particularly mountain bike.
Discussions are ongoing with the different stakeholders to identify the best opportunities to advance the development of E-mountain bike and define its next steps on the international stage.
