The UCI reveals revised calendar for 2021 UCI Mountain Bike Marathon Series

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) has revealed the new calendar for the 2021 UCI Mountain Bike Marathon Series, which has been revised due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Comprising eight rounds in seven countries, the series, which has a new format this year, will open on 17 May in Jaén and Córdoba (Spain) and finish five months later in Cape Town and the Western Cape province of South Africa.

The 2021 series will include six one-day events and two stage races, which are among the most iconic and longstanding events on the UCI International Mountain Bike Calendar. Participation in the events will not be limited. The races will include a specific start order, and a general classification for the series will be calculated at the end of each competition. The UCI Mountain Bike Marathon Series will continue to be a qualification pathway to the UCI Mountain Bike Marathon World Championships, via the individual events and the overall classification.
