UCI President David Lappartient said: “In its first two seasons, the HERO UCI Cross-country Marathon World Cup has become firmly established, creating season-long international competition for specialists of this demanding mountain bike format. We continue to develop the series, and I am delighted that in 2027 we will welcome the Bike Marathon Garda Trentino to its calendar for the first time. Mountain bike marathon racing is extraordinarily popular among the world’s Elite and amateur athletes, and next year they will again share the stage at each round of the HERO UCI Cross-country Marathon World Cup.”
Gerhard Vanzi, responsible for organising the HERO UCI Cross-country Marathon World Cup, said: “The HERO UCI Cross-country Marathon World Cup’s first two seasons proved it was a robust and credible project, enhancing the marathon format via outstanding events and stunning locations with an extraordinary sports pedigree. The number of international participants, visibility, and high-quality of the organisation confirm the value of the joint journey we set out on with the UCI and the Local Organising Committees. The 2027 calendar is the result of intense planning and coordination work aiming to guarantee continuity, a varied yet well-balanced technical challenge, and growth opportunities for the entire movement.”
