UCI Mountain Bike Enduro and E-Enduro World Championships to become the speciality’s flagship event from 2027

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Sports today announce that the 2026 edition of the UCI Enduro World Cup will be the last to be held as part of the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series.

From 2027, the status of the UCI Mountain Bike Enduro and E-Enduro World Championships as the leading international enduro event will be strengthened. Each year, the event brings together the discipline's top riders competing for the rainbow jerseys of UCI World Champion across the various categories.

The integration of enduro into the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series contributed significantly to its visibility and growth. However, given its specific characteristics, the UCI and WBD Sports have concluded that its continued development would now be better served by a more targeted approach, focused on its own particular strengths, rather than by its inclusion within a series bringing together the different mountain bike formats.

For more than a decade, the Enduro World Series (EWS) and WBD Sports have contributed to the growth and professionalisation of enduro, at both Elite and amateur level, together with athletes, teams, organisers and partners. This period notably saw the launch of the UCI Mountain Bike Enduro and E-Enduro World Championships in 2024.

The 2026 UCI Mountain Bike Enduro and E-Enduro World Championships will take place from 16 to 18 October in Finale Outdoor Region, Liguria (Italy), a venue regarded as the birthplace of enduro.

Enduro and E-enduro will also feature on the programme of the 2027 UCI Cycling World Championships in Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc, France.
