UCI Presidency and Management Committee: publication of the list of candidates

The election of the President of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) for the 2025-2029 period will take place during the next UCI Congress, which will be held on 25 September in Kigali, Rwanda.

At the same Congress, one candidate per Continental Confederation for Africa, America, Asia and Oceania, and seven candidates – including at least two representatives of each gender – for Europe will be elected to sit on the UCI Management Committee for the same period (2025-2029).

The candidates for the UCI Management Committee were elected by their respective Continental Confederations.

As a reminder, the UCI Management Committee is composed of a President, 11 members elected by the UCI Congress, the five Presidents of the Continental Confederations, and the President of the UCI Athletes' Commission.

The current Presidents of the Continental Confederations, elected or re-elected between January and March 2025 for a period of four years, are as follows:

  • African Cycling Confederation (CAC): Dr Yao Jean-Marie ALLAH-KOUAMÉ (CIV)

  • Pan American Cycling Confederation (COPACI): Mr José Manuel PELAEZ (CUB)

  • Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC): Mr Amarjit Singh GILL DARSHAN SINGH (MAS)

  • European Cycling Union (UEC): Mr Enrico DELLA CASA (ITA)

  • Oceania Cycling Confederation (OCC): Mr Tony MITCHELL (NZL).

The statutory deadline for submitting candidacies for the UCI Presidency and Management Committee was 25 June.

After receiving all the files, the UCI Ethics Commission verified the eligibility of the candidates in accordance with Articles 52 and 53 of the UCI Constitution. After review, the Commission confirmed the eligibility of all candidates. All candidacy files will now be forwarded to the Voting Delegates of each of the Continental Confederations.

With regard to the Presidency, only David Lappartient, current UCI President, submitted a candidacy for the position. In accordance with Article 40, paragraph 3 of the UCI Constitution, his election for a third four-year term will be confirmed without a vote.

Candidates and Voting Delegates are required to comply with the campaign rules set out in the UCI Congress Regulations and the UCI Code of Ethics.
