The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is pleased to confirm that its President David Lappartient was elected a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on 19 February at the institution’s 139th Session held in Beijing (China) in conjunction with the 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
David Lappartient thus joins the hundred or so active members of the IOC and will sit in this capacity with his counterparts at future IOC general assemblies (Sessions).
As stipulated by the Olympic Charter, our President’s mission as an IOC Member will be to represent and promote the interests of the IOC and the Olympic Movement in his country and in the Olympic Movement organisations where he serves.
David Lappartient is currently Chairman of the IOC's Esports and Gaming Liaison Group.
