UCI statement concerning Otylia Marczuk

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) announces that the Polish para-cyclist Otylia Marczuk has been sanctioned with a four-year period of ineligibility following an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) for the presence of Stanozolol and Erythropoietin (EPO)*.

In accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code and the UCI Anti-Doping Regulations (UCI ADR), the period of ineligibility started on 28 August 2024 and is effective until 27 August 2028 (included).

The ADRV results from analysis of samples collected on 25 August 2024 by the International Paralympic Committee during the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, an event from which the rider was disqualified.

The case has been resolved by way of an acceptance of consequences as provided for by the World Anti-Doping Code and the UCI ADR.

The UCI will not comment any further.

* Stanozolol and EPO are Prohibited Substances listed under class S1.1 [Anabolic Agents] and S2 [Peptide hormones, growth factors, related substances and mimetics] of the Prohibited List which is maintained by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and adopted by the UCI.
