UCI statement on Alex Correia Diniz, Otavio Bulgarelli and the UCI Professional Continental Team Soul Brasil Pro Cycling

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) announces that it has notified an Anti-Doping Rule Violation arising from an Adverse Passport Finding against the Brazilian rider Alex Correia Diniz.

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) announces that it has notified an Anti-Doping Rule Violation arising from an Adverse Passport Finding against the Brazilian rider Alex Correia Diniz.

In accordance with the UCI Anti-Doping Rules (ADR), the rider has been provisionally suspended until the adjudication of the affair.

The UCI was also informed that the Autoridade Brasileira de Controle de Dopagem asserted an Anti-Doping Rule Violation for Tampering against the Brazilian rider Otavio Bulgarelli.

For the purposes of article 7.12 of the UCI Anti-Doping Rules, these constitute additional charges for members of the UCI Professional Continental Team Soul Brasil Pro Cycling (*) within a twelve-month period. Therefore article 7.12.3 of the UCI Anti-Doping Rules providing for the suspension of the team from 15 days to 12 months will be applied.

The UCI will refer the matter to the Disciplinary Commission which will render a decision in due course.

At this stage of the procedure, the UCI will not comment any further on any of these matters.
