UCI statement on coronavirus testing at the 2020 Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic

As part of the UCI health protocol applied to the 2020 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships presented by Mercedes Benz, taking place in Leogang (Austria) from 5th to 11th October, a systematic coronavirus PCR test type detection check was carried out on all cross-country olympic (XCO) riders and team members prior to the second round of the 2020 Mercedes Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic. Out of some 600 tests carried out on 4 October, three people who were due to travel to Leogang were found to have tested positive for Covid-19 and another was considered to have had close contact with one of them. These four people have been isolated and will not travel to Austria. The persons concerned are as follows:

In order to take part in the 2020 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships presented by Mercedes Benz, all athletes entered in the different specialties and team members must present a negative PCR test result, carried out 72 hours before entering the team bubble at the event.
