UCI statement on Ramiro Rincon Diaz, João Marcelo Pereira Gaspar and UCI Professional Continental Team Funvic Soul Cycles-Carrefour

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) announces that it has notified Colombian rider Ramiro Rincon Diaz and Brazilian rider João Marcelo Pereira Gaspar of an Adverse Analytical Findings (AAF) of CERA in samples collected in the scope of the event 78e Volta a Portugal Santander Totta on 27 July 2016.

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) announces that it has notified Colombian rider Ramiro Rincon Diaz and Brazilian rider João Marcelo Pereira Gaspar of an Adverse Analytical Findings (AAF) of CERA in samples collected in the scope of the event 78e Volta a Portugal Santander Totta on 27 July 2016.

The riders have the right to request and attend the analysis of the B sample. In accordance with UCI Anti-Doping Rules, the riders have been provisionally suspended until the adjudication of the respective affair.

These constitute second and third AAFs for members of the UCI Professional Continental Team Funvic Soul Cycles-Carrefour (*) within a twelve-month period. Therefore, article 7.12.1 of the UCI Anti-Doping Rules providing for the suspension of the Team from 15 days to 12 months (**) will be applied.

The UCI will refer the matter to the Disciplinary Commission which will render a decision in due course.

At this stage of the procedure, the UCI will not comment any further comment on any of these matters.

(*) On 8 August 2016, the UCI Professional Continental Team Funvic Soul Cycles-Carrefour Brazilian rider Kleber Da Silva Ramos was notified of AAFs of CERA in samples collected during an out-of-competition tests on 31 July and 4 August 2016.
