Val di Sole and Rucphen complete the 2021-2022 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup calendar

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and Flanders Classics are pleased to announce today that Val di Sole (Italy) and Rucphen (Netherlands) have been added to the calendar for the 2021-2022 edition of the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup.

For Val di Sole, which will host the series on 12 December, this is a first since the Italian resort is mainly used to mountain bike competitions, such as the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships that it will host this year from 25 to 29 August. Rucphen will also welcome the world's cyclo-cross elite for the first time on 18 December, after having successfully organised the Dutch National Championships in 2020.

It should be noted that the round in Antwerp (Belgium), initially scheduled for 18 December, will finally be held on 5 December.

With the arrival of Val di Sole and Rucphen, the 2021-2022 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup will have 16 rounds, confirming the globalisation of the circuit, which will be contested on two continents and in six countries, with more than half of the destinations outside of Belgium, the discipline's favourite land.

UCI President David Lappartient said: "With a significant increase in the number of rounds, the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup will provide an even more effective showcase for this exciting and spectacular discipline. The series will provide fans with multiple opportunities to witness racing at the highest level, whether at traditional cyclo-cross venues or at events that have recently joined the UCI World Cup calendar.
