The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) today publishes the list of women's and men's professional road teams that have submitted the essential documents for their registration for the 2026 season and for the allocation of UCI Women's WorldTour and UCI WorldTour licences for the 2026-2028 period, in accordance with articles 2.13.118-122, 2.15.069bis, 2.19.106-110 and 2.16.014bis of the UCI Regulations.
Candidate teams had until 15 October 2025 to submit their registration files. The UCI is currently assessing the compliance of these applications with regulatory requirements, in collaboration with the external audit firm PwC. This assessment examines several criteria, including ethical, financial, and administrative criteria.
The teams are divided into four categories: UCI Women's WorldTeams, UCI WorldTeams, UCI Women's ProTeams and UCI ProTeams.
For teams applying for UCI Women's WorldTour or UCI WorldTour licences for the 2026-2028 period – being renewed concurrently for the first time – an organisational criterion and a sporting criterion are also included. The latter criterion will however only apply if the number of teams meeting all the conditions exceeds the number of licences available (15 UCI Women's WorldTour licences and 18 UCI WorldTour licences).
Applications for the 2026 season are broken down as follows:
16 women's teams for registration as UCI Women's WorldTeams,
20 men's teams for registration as UCI WorldTeams,
6 women's teams for registration as UCI Women's ProTeams,
14 men's teams for registration as UCI ProTeams.
Teams that did not submit all the essential documents by the 15 October deadline, are included in the above count but are not included in the list below. However, they still have the possibility to rectify their situation before the end of the registration process, which would enable them to be registered for the 2026 season. In accordance with the UCI Regulations and subject to other applicable provisions, riders from these teams may terminate their contracts early, but this right will lapse if their team is subsequently registered.
The UCI will publish the final list of teams registered for the 2026 season on 10 December 2025, at the end of the registration procedure.
